Turkish grammar. Why learn it?
Learning the Turkish grammar can seem like the hardest and most boring task when you start learning the language. Most Turkish teachers would start by teaching you the grammar rules. That’s probably why you hated doing Turkish grammar exercises in school. We don’t blame you. We feel the same way.
Though it’s not the first thing you have to learn, knowing the Turkish grammar has its importance and sooner or later you will have to deal with it. The secret is taking courses designed to teach you grammar without the need to study endless rules. How? By absorbing the basic Turkish grammar rules while listening to natives having real conversations. That’s how kids learn. At the age of 5, kids are already fluent in their native language. How can this be? They don’t even know what a verb is at that age. It’s because they hear their parents speaking. That’s the best approach for you as well. That’s exactly how we, at Mondly, approach learning the Turkish grammar and millions of people worldwide appreciate our innovative app. By listening to natives, you will know advanced Turkish grammar rules to use in real life conversations even if you never studied the rules themselves.

These are all grammar exercises created around certain themes in order to boost your learning.
Want to learn certain conjugations? With our on demand conjugation table you can click on verbs during any exercise and you will be able to see their conjugations. The present, past and future tense are now all at your fingertips. What’s even better, depending on your grammar level, you can choose to learn Turkish grammar for beginners, intermediate grammar or jump to the advanced Turkish grammar exercises. No matter your level of Turkish, you will get the most out of your learning with Mondly.
Did you know?
Even though it might seem like a hard language to learn, the Turkish grammar is fairly easy to master. For starters, it is a phonetic language. This means that you can pronounce any Turkish word by reading each letter it is made out of. This goes the other way around as well. If you understand Turkish words, you can easily put words on paper by simply reproducing what you hear. Also, the Turkish language does not have any feminine or masculine forms for nouns which makes learning Turkish much easier.
But how can you make sure you don’t offend a Turk? It’s easy. Just make sure to address them properly. For example, when you first meet someone, make sure you use the formal “siz” which means “you” in English. You should only switch to the informal “sen” when you are invited to. But don’t worry too much about this if you’re just visiting Turkey. You can informally address shopkeepers or hotel clerks and they won’t get offended. Another way of being respectful to a Turkish speaker is by using a title before their name. Turkish people love titles so they have over 1000 of them. For example, you would address an aunt using the word “teyze”, an uncle with “amca” and an older sister with “abla”.
